JustJaredJr.com: How did you land the role? What was your audition process like?

Brady Reiter: I actually originally auditioned for the role of CJ, and after the callback they said that they liked me but wanted me to audition for another role. I had already read the script and really wanted to audition for Mindy! A few weeks later, I had the first audition for Mindy, and it was a while before I found out that I booked it. I remember being really sad because I thought I didn’t get it, and then I got the call that I got the role! To say I was excited is an understatement, I was screaming and jumping up and down all day!

JJJ: Mindy is the mean popular girl in school. Do you think she has a nicer side to her?

BR: I definitely think Mindy has a nicer side to her. I can’t give any spoilers, but throughout the season, we do get to see a different side of Mindy.

JJJ: Do you guys have anything in common?

BR: Mindy and I are both really fashionable and girly. We both love all things pink!

JJJ: What do you think is the best approach to dealing with “mean girls”?

BR: I think the best approach to dealing with mean girls is to just not let it bother you. There’s always going to be somebody like that you know, so you have to just be who you are and not worry about what other people think. Once you find your inner confidence, it becomes harder for mean girls to get to you.

JJJ: The show highlights the middle school experience leading up to high school. What was your own experience like?

BR: My middle school experience was definitely different than most, because I always was pulled out to come to LA for auditions, but it was really important to me to have a normal middle school experience. I went to a normal middle school, I had a good group of friends, and I got to participate in regular school activities. A lot of actors and actresses don’t get to do that, so I’m really glad I did.

JJJ: Do you have a favorite memory from filming?

BR: We have so many great memories from filming, but my favorite was filming the Halloween episode. I can’t say much else, but it’s a really great episode!

JJJ: What’s your favorite prop on set?

BR: Okay, again, I can’t give anything away, but all I’m going to say is: Redvines.

JJJ: Anything you can tease about what’s coming up for Mindy?

BR: Later on in the season we get to see Mindy and CJ work together, which is pretty cool.
