Singer Rachel Platten Says 'Fight Song' Resonated With People on a 'Deeper Level'

Rachel Platten bares some midriff in this new feature from the July 2015 issue of NKD magazine.

The “Fight Song” singer opened up to the glossy about her career and her hit song. Check it:

On getting her start: It’s been about 10 years of hustle since then and touring around the country in my mom’s car and eating a lot of food that was cheap.

On “Fight Song”: Once I wrote the song, it didn’t happen immediately but gradually I noticed it was resonating with people on a deeper level than anything I had ever written before. I had this feeling that I needed to keep going, that this message that I need to give to the world really is working, even if I only give it to a couple of people.

On inspiring people: It’s why I do this, is to bring people this message of love yourself and be inspired and be empowered and don’t give up and don’t quit. The fact that that’s working and that people are getting that message is amazing.
