Derek Hough Had 'Kind Of An Idea' Of Julianne & Brooks Laich's Engagement

Julianne Hough steps out for the KEEP Collective Accessories Social To Benefit The Kind Campaign on Tuesday afternoon (August 25) in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old newly engaged actress and Dancing With The Stars judge was joined by Jessica Szohr and Jesse Metcalfe at the event.

“We actually spent the week at the lake house and all the family was there, the kids, nieces and nephews. And we spent the most magical, amazing week together and then at the very end [they] got engaged. He’s a great guy, I just couldn’t be happier for them,” Derek shared with The Insider about Julianne‘s engagement to Brooks Laich.

He added, “He [Brooks] went to my dad. They locked themselves out on a deck — they were out there for a good two hours talking so I kind of had an idea. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. I see what’s happening!’”

Derek is also pictured headed to Staples Center for Taylor Swift‘s concert on Tuesday night (August 25).
