Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas hit the floor for the Dancing With the Stars premiere on Monday night (September 14) in Hollywood.

The pair danced the Jive and received a total of 22 out of 30 from the judges. Watch below!

“For this first week, Carlos and I both are doing jives,” Alexa wrote for her People blog. “I didn’t really realize how competitive my husband was until we started doing this show.”

She continued, “He kept trying to compare our dances, and I had to keep reminding him that every teacher and every song is going to make the dances different. His jive has a very classical feel to it, and mine is a lot more edgy.”
