Alek Skarlatos Appears on 'Ellen' to Talk Oregon School Shooting

Alek Skarlatos sits down for an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show alongside his dancing partner Lindsay Arnold on Thursday (October 1) in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old Dancing With the Stars contestant was not feeling up to dancing during the appearance due to the news happening that day involving the UCC school shooting.

Alek is actually a student at the community college and he would have been there today if he wasn’t on Dancing With the Stars.

“I had classes in Snyder Hall. I mean, it’s a fairly small Community College and just the town in general everybody knows each other so with that many deceased I mean everybody’s going to know at least one person,” Alek said. “I would have been there today if I didn’t agree to do this show. I had classes picked out and everything.”
