The Originals' Leah Pipes on Klaus & Cami's Season Three 'Boundaries' (JJJ Interview)

Dying for some scoop on The Originals? You’re in luck!

JJJ recently sat down with star Leah Pipes on set in Atlanta and talked all things Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Cami (or “Klamille” as fans call them)!

When season three picks up, Cami has a lot on her plate.

“Cami got her degree, so she’s starting up her practice as a therapist and client number one is Mr. Klaus Mikaelson,” Leah told us. “She’s starting out with the ultimate challenge and we’ll see how she does. She’s attempting to make very clear boundaries between her and Klaus in order to have a purely professional relationship with him.”

That, of course, proves harder than it seems. Klaus is willingly going to therapy, but does he have ulterior motives?

Leah said, “I think Klaus has finally come to terms with the fact that Cami really does care about him and wants the best for him. I think he is getting to the point where he cares enough about his child that he wants to a better person and work through issues for his child. So he does go willingly to Cami to hopefully come out a better person, but he doesn’t respect the boundaries as much as she’d like him to.”

Cami will also be involved with a major murder case, which doesn’t exactly sit well with Klaus. “He’s kind of always trying to control her and she is woman who is very independent and refuses to allow him to have any say in her choices,” Leah said.

The Originals premieres on Thursday, October 8 @ 9PM on The CW!

We asked Leah about the pivotal scenes between the two during last season’s finale.

“I think they were both breakthroughs in their relationship. Obviously, I think he had a breakthrough saying sorry and Cami had a breakthrough finally admitting she has complicated feelings and that she’s pretty sure he does too,” Leah told JJJ. “And then in the last scene, when he said he would have found her, after she sort of flippantly said, ‘It could have been anyone.’ His response saying, ‘No, it couldn’t have. It had to be you.’ I think that was a big breakthrough in their relationship. So we find them post-that-conversation, trying to set very clear boundaries and very much trying to pull back from that, and hide, once again, those complicated feelings from themselves and each other.”

What would her former flame (and Klaus’ on-and-off enemy) Marcel have to say about their relationship?

“I think he would be like,’Yeahhhh.’ How does not everyone see it coming?” Leah said. “Well, I think everyone knows that Klaus cares for his girl and that she cares for him, but he’s a dangerous guy to be involved with in any capacity, let alone a romantic capacity. I think everyone cares for Cami and doesn’t necessarily want to see her with Klaus. It would be terrible for her.”

She also joked, “As much as she would love to have another date night with Marcel, there’s not a lot of time on her hands. Or at least I would love for her to have another date nigh with Marcel (laughs). Charles looks great without a shirt on.”
