Selena Gomez has a new TV gig in the works!
According to Variety, the 23-year-old “Same Old Love” singer is in talks to adapt the best-selling young adult book “13 Reasons Why” into a 13-episode miniseries for Netflix.
The 2007 novel by Jay Asher follows a boy named Clay Jensen who returns home from school to find a mysterious box with cassette tapes inside recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush, who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
She explains thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life and Clay is one of them.
Selena read the book and decided to buy the rights to a screen adaptation with her mom Mandy Teefey and producer Kristel Laiblin. All three will serve as executive producers.
