Chloe Moretz just shared some super exciting news with us – she is going to be playing The Little Mermaid in a new live-action movie!
Before you start picturing the 18-year-old actress with Ariel’s classic red hair, let us inform you that this is not a Disney adaptation, but rather a retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale. The premise follows “a mermaid who gives up her life in the sea after she falls in love with a prince,” according to THR.
“Here it is!! I’ve been waiting months to tell everyone how excited I am to take on this beautiful journey with Working Title, Universal, and a beautiful script by Richard Curtis.. #TheLittleMermaid!!!! Here we go!!!” the 18-year-old actress wrote on Instagram.
