Bailee Madison On 'More Than A Word' Campaign: 'There Was An Overwhelming Response'

Bailee Madison‘s “I’m More Than A Word” campaign was one of the most inspiring campaigns of the year and in a new interview with Popular mag, she’s opening up all about it.

“‘I’m More Than A Word’ is a campaign I started after I was hurt by the words someone had called me. This experience made me realize that I wasn’t the only person affected by negative words,” the 16-year-old actress explained on how it got started. “I decided to open a Tumblr to share my feelings with others in hopes of helping them realize that they are not alone and that they are, in fact, MORE than a word. In today’s generation, words, labels and stereotypes can easily be used to lower one’s self-esteem and this needs to stop. I believe with all my heart, that through this campaign we can stop negativity and stereotypes, so that in the end no one will ever question their worth.”

Bailee continued, “There was an overwhelming response and people from all over the world, of all different ages, were sending me their videos. I decided to put it all together to Rachel Platten‘s ‘Fight song’ and post it on my YouTube channel. It was humbling and so exciting to see everyone being so open and honest & I couldn’t be more proud of those who took part of the challenge. People are still reading the post and reaching out, which means the world to me.”
