The Vamps Listened to Taylor Swift's '1989' for Musical Inspiration

The Vamps are smokin’ hot on the cover of Notion magazine’s 71st Issue!

The guys – Brad Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball, and Tristan Evans – opened up to the glossy about their music, future, and more. Check it:

On their musical influences: We listened to Taylor Swift‘s 1989, but also stuff like MGMT. We’ve been writing similar songs melodically, but incorporating different things too.

On taking a break: It’s been a year and a half, but that time seemed like so much less for us, because we’ve been working non-stop. We didn’t really have a break. I guess some bands wait years (between albums) but we did a song for a Disney movie in the meantime. It probably felt to the rest of the world that we were being really active but to us, we’d already wound down.

On living up to their boy band image: It’s quite humbling, really, because you put in a lot of time and effort to make the best music you can; you slave over it and then it’s a big push. A lot is at stake. For people to like it so much that they pay to see us on tour, it’s an amazing thing.
