Taylor Swift's 'Teardrops on My Guitar' Subject Arrested for Child Abuse

Drew Hardwick, the subject of Taylor Swift’s song “Teardrops on My Guitar,” has been arrested for child abuse, reports Vulture.

The 27-year-old, his wife, and another man were arrested after a 3-year-old girl suffered “severe lacerations and bruises” while under their care on Saturday (December 26) and had to be airlifted to a hospital.

A 5-year-old girl who was at the scene reportedly said Drew had struck both children in the face.

Taylor
told the Washington Post in 2008 that she had written “Teardrops” about Drew, a high school crush who repeatedly ignored her. She said two years later Drew showed up at her house unannounced with a friend, possibly to prove that the song was about him.
