Jordin Sparks raises her hands high after performing the National Anthem during Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals game held at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday (December 27) in Glendale, Ariz.
The 26-year-old singer wrote about her love for the game and her hometown team on Instagram just a few days later on Instagram. Read what she wrote below:
“Whenever I sing for an @azcardinals game, it’s much more than just coming to do the pre-game anthem. I am genuinely a fan of the game & a true fan of this team. I get very excited when they ask me to sing. This organization has played a major role in my life for years! I sat at Sun Devil stadium in sweltering heat cheering before the Cardinals had a home to call their own. And, when they did, I sang at the very first game in the new Nest!”
“When I walk into the stadium, it’s just like visiting a place you’d hold near and dear to you from your childhood or a precious memory. I’ve performed at a lot of NFL games. A LOT. There’s nothing like the energy in this stadium. There’s no staff that are friendlier or have more smiles on their faces. No fans that are more loyal & show better sportsmanship. No coaches & players that have more heart and dedication to the game, this team, these fans, this great state. We have been underdogs for a long time.”
“It’s amazing to see the pieces fit together & see this team get the recognition it deserves! It’s been an incredible season so far & we’re just a few weeks from the Super Bowl! I will be screaming in the stands when we get there!!! So, with my hand over my heart & #22 on my back, in honor of my Dad, I will keep singing for this team for years to come! I’m very proud to be an @azcardinals fan! ?? #AZPride #RiseUpRedSea #Birdgang #ProtectTheNest #NoFlyZone”
