Check out this brand new interview with Gavin MacIntosh!
The Fosters returns TONIGHT, January 25 @ 8PM on Freeform.
JustJaredJr.com: Where do we find Connor in the premiere? What’s he up to?
Gavin MacIntosh: Connor is facing a tough decision to stay with the one he loves or move where he is more accepted and can grow up and be himself. Connor seems to be going through some ‘teen’ transition, he has grown up on the show over the last few years, and this is again another step forward. Or to some fans it may seem backwards.
JJJ: What can you tell us about why Connor is leaving to live with his mom? Is it all because of his dad or are there other reasons?
GM: Connor wants to be a normal teen, Los Angeles may seem like a bigger city with less judgement. Maybe he can grow up feeling more accepted and without judgement.

JJJ: Do you think Connor’s dad has learned at all to accept his son at this point?
GM: Yes, I think he has somewhat, but Connor is a kid and sometimes kids don’t always see adult perspective. Adam loves Connor, no doubt, but his prejudices might be too much for Connor in the long run.
JJJ: Jude obviously wants him to stay. Will they try long distance or should we start shedding #Jonnor tears now?
GM: Long distance relationships seem to always bring tears… no matter what happens.
JJJ: Other than Jude/Connor, which relationship (whether romantic/family/friendship) on the show is your favorite and why?
GM: Steph and Lena are the original OTP and I definitely think their characters spread an important message of love and acceptance. Teri Polo and Sherri Saum really care about the LGBT community and how their characters impact it, that’s why they are my favorite.
