The 20-year-old singer/actress announced the news on social media on Thursday night (February 11) along with a little note for her fans about her journey.
“I was fearless when I was four years old. Literally, ask my poor parents. I’d go up to complete strangers in the street and sing my seven minute long songs,” she starts out.
Laura continues, “I did everything secretly; I worked hard at my musical skills,a nd then at fifteen, I got a show where i had to sing ALL THE TIME. I had never been more nervous, and yet I was the happiest I had ever been, because I was doing what I loved. And when I got an amazing record deal with an amaing label four years later, I finally felt brave enough to consider myself a true artist.”
“I’m happy to announce ‘Boombox’ is going to be my single! I can’t wait for you guys to hear it, and I honestly can’t thank you guys enough for all of your support. You singlehandedly have given me strength, and I love you guys for it.”
