Bailee Madison Opens Up About Breakup With Emery Kelly

Months after Bailee Madison and Emery Kelly called it quits, she’s opening up about dealing with what came after.

While last year, we were fawning over the cuteness of Bailee, 16, and Forever In Your Mind singer Emery, their relationship came to a rough end.

“It was hard because it was my first thing in the limelight; everyone saw it,” Bailee shared with Teen.com. “I didn’t know at the time what it was, and then when things started happening personally that I couldn’t necessarily talk about, everyone started to form their own opinion.”

She dealt with moving on in the best way she knew how — by writing. However, after posting her heartfelt message on Tumblr, there were some people who weren’t happy about it.

“I woke up the next day and realized I was still letting it have control over me. I realized recently if a guy goes out and shares in opinion, he’s applauded�and then when girls do it, they’re over-sharing; they’re the crazy ex,” she said.

Bailee added, “I’ve learned you can’t really control other people’s actions and they way that they act. You should always be cordial, but there’s only so much you can do before it becomes toxic.”
