'Shadowhunters' Author Cassandra Clare Doesn't Want the Fandom Split

Author Cassandra Clare is speaking out about fans of the Shadowhunters television show and books.

It seems some of the fandom was split and arguing for one or the other, but Cassandra wants to break down those walls.

“A brief note on the TV show. There is no competition between the books and the show. You can like both or one or neither,” she tweeted. “Authors do not resent or compete with adaptations of their work. It’s just not how it functions when someone dramatizes your writing.”

Cassandra added, “I have a good relationship with @edecter and with @McGsWonderland and with the lovely cast of Shadowhunters. I hate to see the fandom split by an unnecessary war. Show fans and book fans — you are not on opposing sides.”
