Derek Hough Not Returning For Season 22 of 'Dancing With the Stars'

Derek Hough will not be returning for season 22 of Dancing With the Stars.

The 30-year-old dancer will be taking a break this season, the first time since he has done so since he joined the show in season five, E! News reports.

Earlier in the week, it was announced Derek will star in the upcoming Broadway revival of Singin’ in the Rain, set to open in January 2017.

Derek has been part of the winning duo on DWTS six times, most recently last season with Bindi Irwin.

Derek’s sister Julianne announced she was stepping down as a judge for the season earlier in the month.
