Elena Kampouris Feared She Wasn't Greek Enough for 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2'

The 18-year-old My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 star chatted about the film and her fear that she wasn’t Greek enough for the role.

“I am Greek,” Elena shared. “A lot of people don’t believe it when I say it because I’m blonde, I have fair skin. I figured they’d want a Mediterranean, Israeli, Hispanic looking girl and I know I don’t look like that. But I knew that if I didn’t get this part, I would not only be rejected by the movie, I’d be rejected by family! I think everybody has dealt with having an overwhelming or embarrassing family, dealing with dysfunction. At the end of the day, Greeks have one volume: loud.”

She added, “All I can say is that I’m not getting married. The rest, you’ll have to wait and see.”
