Zayn Malik Still Talks to One Direction's Liam Payne

Zayn Malik puts up his dukes on the cover of NME magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands tomorrow!

The 23-year-old entertainer chatted about One Direction, and who in the band he still talks to. Here’s what he shared…

On the unrealness he felt associated with 1D: “I think that’s why it came across as being mysterious or detached. I just didn’t want to get caught up in something that wasn’t real. You can be the biggest band in the world for a certain time, but that ends.”

On which One Direction member he still talks to: “I’m still probably the closest to Liam [Payne]. We talk on the phone. He congratulated me on my single. Which was nice. I congratulated him on his Brit Award. It was a good chat. We hadn’t met in a long time so we want to meet up.”

On the other guys in 1D: “I tried to have contact but nobody’s reached out. So�whatever.”
