'Anastasia' is Heading to Broadway Soon!

Fans of the animated film Anastasia are in for a treat because it was just announced that it will become a Broadway musical during the 2016-2017 season!

The show will have a pre-Broadway tryout run at Hartford Stage in Connecticut starting on May 12 starring theater actress Christy Altomare in the title role.

Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, who wrote the original songs for the 1997 movie, will write the score for the musical. It will include classic songs like “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December” from the film.

Darko Tresnjak, who won a Tony Award for his work on A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, will direct the musical.
