The 20-year-old musician talks about the definition of youth, how the parents of his fans perceive him, as well as his identity as a “gay artist” in the glossy.
“I really wanted to show an innocent LGBT relationship. I feel like gay relationships are so sexualized [by the media]. When you see a little boy and a little girl walking down the street, and holding hands it’s like ‘aw cute,’ but you never see it with two boys,” Troye explains about the ideas behind his videos for “Wild”, “Fools” and “Talk Me Down”.
He adds, “It’s kind of portraying what it’s like before you realize there’s anything ‘wrong’ with you.”
