Zendaya On Short List for Lead Role in 'Battle Angel' Movie

Zendaya is a final front-runner for the lead role in James Cameron’s new film Alita: Battle Angel, THR reports.

The 19-year-old actress is on a short list of stars up for the role, which includes Maika Monroe and Rosa Salazar.

James will produce the movie, which will be directed by Robert Rodriguez and resemble the Dark Angel series that James worked on from 2000-2002.

The movie is based on a series of popular manga graphic novels and tells the story of a female cyborg that is discovered in a trash yard and uses her martial arts skills to become a bounty hunter.
