Lea Michele Takes 'A Walk In Their Shoes' at Toms 10 Year Celebration
Lea Michele meets up with Toms founder Blake Mycoskie at the AT&T and TOMS 10 Year Celebration Shoebox held at Santa Monica Pier on Friday (May 6) in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 29-year-old Scream Queens actress chatted with Blake about the company’s mission and future before checking out the “A Walk in Their Shoes” VR experience.
“A Walk In Their Shoes” chronicles the journey of one Toms customer from California as he travels to Colombia to meet a child that benefits directly from his purchase.
“VR is the greatest technology I’ve seen to create empathy,” Blake shared. “Ultimately, whether you’re a nonprofit or a social enterprise like Toms, the most important thing is for our customers and donors to understand the real impact they can have. It’s amazing when people experience and see things first-hand. We know this because we’ve seen it when we take people on giving trips over the years. Obviously that’s not scalable, but a VR experience is infinitely scalable.”
Toms and AT&T are also giving away 100,000 Google Cardboard VR viewers with Toms purchases.
So amazing meeting @BlakeMycoskie today! Beyond grateful for all the amazing work you do.. ?????? pic.twitter.com/DKH6D3S4yU
