Sofia Carson Definitely Fangirled Over Meeting Hilary Duff

The 23-year-old Descendants actress and “Love Is The Name” singer chats about her music, education and that one time she met Hilary Duff. Check it:

On meeting Hilary Duff: “I had just come from the airport after shooting in South Africa. I looked crazy. No makeup, messy hair, sweatpants. But my sister Paulina was like, ‘Sofia, if you don’t go up to her and talk to her, I’ll never speak to you again.’ I was definitely fangirling a little. All I managed to say was, ‘Hi, sorry to bother you, but I just finished shooting A CinderellaStory,’ but she was so sweet. She was like, ‘What?! That is so cool!’”

On one particular song on her album: “I wrote it when I first moved to Los Angeles for college. I just sat down and this ballad came out. It’s my absolute favorite song to sing. The day that I get to perform that one live, I can die happy.”

On her education: “I was kind of a nerd when I was younger, always studying or at dance practice. I knew I wanted to be a singer and actress, but it was never a question of whether I was going to go to college or not. I’ve had to take time off, but there’s nothing like having an education and a degree. Nobody can ever take that away from you. I’m very lucky to be able to get to do everything that I love�and I have to thank my parents for their support through it all.”
