The 26-year-old actor was attending a photo call for his upcoming movie Independence Day: Resurgence with his co-star Jeff Goldblum and director Roland Emmerich.

While in the city, Liam happened upon a local news story that left him inspired.

“Watching the morning news in Sydney Australia today and came across a story about a young female skateboarder, @poppystarr // @poppystarr_art,” Liam wrote on Instagram. “Only 16 and has already achieved so much! Keep at it! You’re an inspiration!”
