Meghan Trainor Knows The Type of Guy She Deserves: 'Someone Who Is Obsessed With Me'

The 22-year-old “Me Too” singer is currently promoting her brand new album, Thank You, and before heading to the Land Down Under, she spoke to Evening Standard about the meanings behind her songs.

“Better” is all about “the guy who everyone doesn’t want you to be with, but you like him, even though he treats you like crap,” she says.

Meghan added, “Every ex-boyfriend, that was me. That’s my shout out to them. Even nowadays I haven’t got a boyfriend, but I’ve had little flings – they never last because I realize early on that I deserve better. I deserve someone who is obsessed with me, like I’m obsessed with them� I usually don’t want to get more heartbroken later, so I cut it off early.”
