Dan & Shay On 'Obsessed': 'We Took Some Chances & Did Some New Things'

Dan + Shay hit the stage for Darius Rucker’s Good For A Good Time Tour at Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Just a few days before, the duo — Dan Smyers, 28, and Shay Mooney, 24 — dropped their sophomore album, Obsessed.

“We have a responsibility to our fans at this point. They were obsessed with the first album and we have a responsibility to write a better album. We have to beat every song,” Dan and Shay revealed. “We’ve always said that: ‘May the best song win’… I think we did what our fans – the Dan+Shay that they fell in love with, it’s still that.”

They added, “But we took some liberties, took some chances and did some new things and the reaction so far has just been awesome.”
