The 32-year-old actor will be heading to ABC’s Still Star-Crossed in the fall, and during his Reddit AMA on Friday (June 10), opened up about saying goodbye to the CW series.
“As for season 4, I’m really hoping to come back at some point. It’s not set in stone, but I’d say there’s a good chance it will happen,” Torrance told fans.
Here’s what else he shared:
On Bash and Mary: “It was maybe always Bash’s destiny to help Mary (and the audience) transition from Francis’ death into her new life in Scotland. It was really nice in the last few eps getting so many scenes with Adelaide [Kane] again. Can’t reveal much, but there’s lots of Mash in the last few eps of season 3.
On the show exploring the moment when Mary goes to prison: “That will be interesting to see. I am happy that the show is moving forward with Mary’s life though. Reign is at its best when it’s boldly pushing the story forward. I know it was a tough call though since people had grown so attached to all the characters in France. But I don’t imagine they’ll spend an entire season with her in jail. My guess is they’ll do a bit of a ‘fast-forward.’”
On being drawn to historical roles: “You do a certain amount of research, but at the end of the day the period dramas I’ve done have gone to some effort to modernize things a bit. I don’t generally have to worry about coming across too contemporary. I wouldn’t say it’s more challenging. It’s mostly the same drama in a different outfit. I do like that I never really have to do cell phone or computer desk acting, and swords and horses are a ton of fun.”
On saying goodbye to the show: “Leaving Reign was bittersweet. I’m very sad to leave what has essentially been my family for the last three years. Creatively, however, I’m very excited to do new things. The wonderful people on Still Star-Crossed are making the transition much easier for me.”
