Lauren Conrad Serves Up The Best Party Planning Tips in 'Redbook'

Lauren Conrad serves up some yummy looking watermelon in this inside shot from her July 2016 cover of Redbook magazine, on news stands June 21st.

The 30-year-old lifestyle guru and author opened up about her party-planning tips for the summer, compromising with husband William Tell and more. Check it:

On how marriage has changed her themed birthday parties: “Now that I’m throwing parties with my husband, William, I have to keep in mind that he prefershow do I say thiseasier themes than what I’ve done in the past. He doesn’t like to feel that he’s asking friends to go out of their way. So now we do a birthday hoedown because everyone owns a pair of cutoffs and a plaid shirt. I’m learning how to compromise!”

On her best advice for the perfect party: “I always try to make sure that the party I’m putting together isn’t perfect. Anything that looks too put-together is too fussy for me. If it feels fussy, then people might not be comfortable. A successful party is about comfort and making people feel welcome.”

On the most important thing to remember when throwing a party: “You can dream up the most beautiful table-scape and food, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you are having as much fun as your guests and enjoying each other’s company. The point is to celebrate and that means everyone.”
