Lucas Till's 'MacGyver' Series Pilot Scrapped & Will Be Re-Shot

Lucas Till is one of the only two cast members who remain for CBS’ Macgyver after a shakeup this week.

CBS has recruited James Wan, who directed Furious 7, The Conjouring 2 and Saw, to direct the new pilot which will make its debut on the network in September. CSI alum George Eads will also remain on the show.

According to THR, James was originally set to direct the pilot in the first place, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. He’ll remain with the series as an executive producer after.

MacGyver, a re-imagining of the original series, centers on Angus “Mac” MacGyver (Till), who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives.
