The 25-year-old Stitchers star kept the announcement quiet but just wrote a letter on Instagram, addressing the struggle of breastfeeding.
“Please take a moment to read about something very near and dear to my heart. My mother is a doctor who specializes in moms and babies in the first 16 weeks of life,” Emma writes. “She runs a small business in our hometown and has spent her entire life devoted to helping others get through the very difficult first weeks of parenthood with as much joy as possible. If any of you are moms or dads you’ll know how much of a struggle breastfeeding and sleep can be, not to mention a myriad of other things. Parents often feel like failures and receive so much conflicting advice.”
She added, “I had a baby just four weeks ago. I am so fortunate to have had my mother with me the entire time. She has smoothed the path and made sure that we are feeding and sleeping well, I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her and I wish her help for every other woman who has a baby.”
