Christina Grimmie's Family 'Disappointed' in Lack of Teen Choice Awards 2016 Tribute (Report)
Christina Grimmie‘s family is reportedly responding to the lack of mention at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards.
The 22-year-old singer’s family released a statement, which read, “While we are glad that Christina finally won her much deserved Teen Choice Award, we are also definitely disappointed that her name was not mentioned at any point during the two-hour broadcast,” a source close to the Grimmie family told ET in a statement. “It seems they could have paid honor or tribute to her in some way and that opportunity was missed. The fans have a right to be upset.”
Christina was honored with the Choice Web Star: Music award at the show, but wasn’t mentioned during a segment about violence, which was introduced by Jessica Alba.
Christina passed away earlier in the summer after being shot in an act of violence.
