Taylor Swift is Giving $1 Million to Those Affected By Louisiana Flooding

Taylor Swift plans to give $1 million to Louisiana flood relief after thousands of residents’ homes were destroyed and 11 people were killed following downpours of rain this week.

In a statement to the Associated Press on Tuesday, the 26-year-old singer talked about how the people of Louisiana had welcomed her openly when she started off The 1989 World Tour there last year.

“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home,” Taylor said in her statement. “The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.”

“I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time,” she added.

Over 30,000 people have been rescued from the flooding since Friday, according to Fox News.
