Simone Biles Reveals She Has ADHD After Drug Test Leak

Simone Biles looks pretty in a simple black dress while sitting front row at the Vera Wang Collection fashion show during New York Fashion Week on Tuesday (September 13) in New York City.

The 19-year-old gold-medal winning gymnast was joined at the event by Anna Wintour and Maria Sharapova.

That same day, Simone released a statement after it was revealed that computer hackers published documents from the World Anti-Doping Agency’s athlete database.

The documents revealed that Simone, as well as Serena and Venus Williams, were issued a medical exception to use banned drugs.

Simone took to her Twitter to explain that the drugs she took were for ADHD and were approved by WADA.

“I have ADHD and I have taken medicine for it since I was a kid. Please know, I believe in clean sport, have always followed the rules, and will continue to do so as fair play is critical to sport and is very important to me,” Simone wrote.

She later added, “Having ADHD, and taking medicine for it is nothing to be ashamed of nothing that I’m afraid to let people know.”
