New 'Anne of Green Gables' TV Adaption Airing on PBS Thanksgiving Day

Have you ever read “Anne of Green Gables” by L.M. Montgomery? It’s one of the JJJ Book Club‘s favorite books and we love the movie adaptions.

We love the version with Megan Follows (from Reign), but we’re really excited that there’s a new version that will air on PBS on Thanksgiving Day!

Ella Ballentine stars as the title character opposite Martin Sheen in the classic story, which centers on Anne Shirley, a precocious young girl taken from an orphanage and placed in the care of the uptight Marilla Cuthbert and her brother, Matthew. The conservative Marilla has a profound effect on the adventurous Anne and creates a journey of learning and personal engagement.

Anne of Green Gables will air Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24th @ 8PM ET/PT on PBS, followed by a new retelling of Pollyanna at 9:30PM ET/PT.
