Elle Fanning Dishes On Playing Mary Shelley: 'She Was So Interesting'

Elle Fanning has a golden glow in this inside shot from her Schon #31 cover story.

The 19-year-old actress opened up to the glossy about playing Mary Shelley in A Storm in the Sun, choosing acting over sports and more. Check it:

On how she knew she was destined to be an actor: “They [our parents] thought that maybe Dakota and I would play tennis, be sporty [since they were athletes. We would put on these elaborate, imaginative costumes and be characters. We would play, but we were basically acting with no camera. My mom saw us doing that and she was like, 'Well, I guess that's what they want to do'"

On A Storm in the Sun: "She is so interesting and also so tragic. It's also a very modern story because she was way modern for her times her beliefs and the way that she and Percy Shelley lived. The experience that she'd already had when she was 17 was pretty crazy, especially back then when women got married so young."

On new next movie, 20th Century Women: "It messes her up [with her mother being her therapist]. She lies a lot and acts out, provocatively. She is with a lot of boys. It’s kind of like a power play…You had to come prepared with your imagination, so it was a very creative experience.”
