Zendaya Interviews Michelle Obama For Teen Vogue's New Issue

Imagine how amazing it would be to interview First Lady Michelle Obama…Zendaya did it!

The actress, fashion designer and activist sat down with the First Lady and picked her brain about her program, Let Girls Learn, which is a government initiative that helps educate 62 million more girls around the world.

When Zendaya asked about the program once the First Lady leaves the White House with her family, Michelle had the best answer.

“I see myself — and my daughters — in these girls. Once you get to know them, you just can’t walk away. I plan on working on this issue for the rest of my life,” she shares.

Michelle adds about the program, and the issues the girls who benefit, face: “Sometimes the issue is resources. Parents can’t afford to pay for tuition, uniforms, or school supplies; or the nearest school is too far away and there’s no safe transportation…But often the problem is attitude. It’s about whether families and communities think girls are even worthy of an education in the first place.”
