Jack & Jack's Jack Johnson Tosses Out Gender Labels & Buys Women's Boots

Jack Johnson just tackled gender norms in a powerful Instagram.

The Jack & Jack singer took to the social media network to show off his new boots and shared the story.

“I was lookin at these boots yesterday in a shop and the attendant was like ‘you know those are women’s boots right?’ and immediately I was like ‘oh shit’ and started to set them back down,” Jack explained, adding, “Then something clicked in my head. Why was that my reaction?”

“It kinda made me upset once I realized I was only setting them back because they were ‘women’s boots’ when that didn’t make them any less fly! Kinda whack how our brains are conditioned to think like that growing up.”

Jack finished, “Basically all I’m tryna say is, wear whatever you think is fresh, don’t let labels dictate your decisions!”
