Brenda Song Reveals What Makes CBS' 'Pure Genius' Different From Any Other Show

If you’re new to JJJ, one thing you have to know is that Brenda Song is one of our favorite actresses and most definitely one of our favorite people.

So, whenever she books a new show or has a new project, we are all ears to listen and learn about it.

Brenda currently stars on CBS’s Pure Genius (which, sadly, only has three episodes left to air) and it’s actually a really amazing show.

“I think that’s what makes our show different. We’re very focused on just how people live and focusing in on their stories,” she shares with NKD mag in the January issue.

“I wish that a place like this really existed,” Brenda added. “I hope we get there someday. To have a place where we can skip all that bureaucracy and that red tape and just get the best care possible would be incredible.”

Brenda is no stranger to the hospital scene — after her mom’s cancer battle (three time breast cancer survivor) — and the tears you’ll see on the show from the cast, are real.

“We [the cast] all know what it’s like in hospital situations. I think that’s why everyone was so emotional when we shot some of the scenes, but it was a really beautiful thing.”

The new episode of Pure Genius airs TONIGHT, @ 10PM ET/PT on CBS. Watch it!

I watched that show one time. Brenda has a very small part. Too bad.

I absolutely love this show. The show’s creator dropped the ball on the title and the marketing which ultimately caused the demise. I hate to see this one go.. but it is not owned by CBS so maybe another network possibly cable can pick it up with a slight revamp of the aforementioned.
