EXCLUSIVE: Maia Mitchell Spills SO Many Details on 'The Fosters' New Season to JJJ

JJJ: Could you give us a recap of what’s happening going into the premiere.
Maia: Sure! Callie’s been in the car with who she’s now figured out is a murderer. Obviously, per the Callie way, things go really sour and pear shaped, and she finds herself in a dangerous situation. She ends up escaping him, and he goes on a kind of a violent rage blackout, and they end up having a car accident. And then she has to figure out whether she comes clean to the parents or whether she goes to the police to give a statement, all of which could potentially incriminate her. No one really knows the full extent of her involvement in this case, so she kind of has to figure out what the best move is.

JJJ: She always facing such tough decisions.
Maia: Yeah, and it’s difficult because Jesus is in a coma, so the parents aren’t really accessible to her. They’ve already got so much on their plate, so she is alone in having to figure it out.
