Sabrina Carpenter is a world changer.
The 17 year-old singer and actress paired up with DoSomething.org for an extraordinary campaign.
“I’m teaming up with @DoSomething for #LoveLetters. Create homemade valentines for seniors in your community, and @MealsonWheelsAmerica will hand deliver them to someone in your local community,” she announced in an Instagram post.
She explained: “Did you know that 11.8 million older adults experience isolation and 6.5 million older adults are depressed? Valentine’s Day can be particularly tough.”
The awesome thing about this campaign is it is literally so easy. We often hear JJJ readers tell us they feel sad when they see celebrities participating in major movements, like how Rowan Blanchard took the stage with this awe-inspiring speech during the Women’s March.
The sadness comes when they think about the fact they can’t drop everything and join — for any number of reasons: money, no car, too young.
But campaigns like this prove you don’t have to be a big celebrity to share your voice and make a difference.
