Selena Gomez Praises '13 Reasons Why' Actress During Netflix Panel

Does anyone else remember that when we first heard about the 13 Reasons Why screen adaption, that Selena Gomez was slated to play Hannah?

And even better, that Logan Lerman was rumored to play Clay?

It wasn’t lost during the Netflix panel for the show this week, when Selena explained just why she let the part go and focused on producing.

“I was going my TV series [Wizards of Waverly Place] at the time, so I was maybe 16, 17 and it would’ve made sense [then],” she shared.

However, the adaption plans changed from a movie to a TV series, and so did Selena.

“I can’t picture anyone else being Hannah but Katherine [Langford],” Selena continued. “When you watch her on-screen, she’s just captivating and she just is Hannah. It worked out they way it was supposed to work out.”
