The 14-year-old dancer, now author of The Maddie Diaries: A Memoir, has a lot going on, despite what people think.
“I’m only 14, but I have a lot of things to talk about,” she laughed about people who question why she wrote a memoir at such a young age, during her AOL Build interview.
Perhaps the most astonishing thing, though, is how she landed the role in Sia‘s “Chandelier” video, which lead to three more videos and a career launched into the stratosphere!
“She tweeted me,” Maddie explained.
Can you believe, it was literally as simple as that?!

“She was a fan of Dance Moms, She watched it all the time. She knew all of my solos, which is really funny,” Maddie laughed. “At the time, I didn’t really know who she was. I knew a couple of her songs, but I was younger and I didn’t really understand.”
Despite not being that familiar with the award-winning singer, Maddie didn’t hesitate to take up her offer.
“She tweeted me and was like ‘Hey, I’d like you to be in my music video,” she explained. “Two weeks later, I flew to Los Angeles to do the video. The day we met, we clicked. We ran and gave each other a huge hug. And the first time she saw me do ‘Chandelier,’ she cried.”
