The Shannara Chronicles: New Cast & Official Season 2 Synopsis Revealed

There are five new faces that are joining The Shannara Chronicles season two — and some of them are familiar.

Malese Jow, Vanessa Morgan, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chiam will be the new faces you’ll see once the new season premieres.

Austin Butler (Wil), Ivana Baquero (Eretria), Manu Bennet (Allanon), Aaron Jakubenko (Ander), and Marcus Vanco (Bandon) will all be returning to the show as well.

In season two, The Four Lands is in chaos. The re-emergence of magic has the populace terrified, and an organization called The Crimson is hunting down magic users, using fear and intimidation to sow discord among the races. Wil, scarred by the loss of Amberle and his separation from Eretria, has turned his back on his magical destiny to become a healer.

But when a mysterious woman named Mareth saves Wil from a Crimson attack, he is forced to rejoin the fight. After reuniting with Eretria, Wil and Mareth seek out Allanon, only to learn that the Druid’s former protg, Bandon, is on a mission to resurrect a creature of darkest evil: The Warlock Lord.

Together, our heroes must band together to take down The Crimson and prevent Bandon from unleashing an even greater threat upon the Four Lands, before it’s too late.

Malese Jow will play Mareth, a young woman who saves Wil from an attack and “who’s both volatile and unpredictable – and possesses magical abilities. Sharp, brash and independent to a fault, Mareth gets what she wants on her own terms (and by any means necessary).”

Vanessa Morgan takes on Lyria, “a beautiful and mysterious young woman who’s romantically linked to Eretria.”

Gentry White will play Garet, “a skilled, sly, and charismatic bounty hunter known throughout The Four Lands as ‘The Weapons Master.’ Wise-cracking and virile with a roguish charm, the only thing Garet likes more than money is a good fight.”

Caroline Chikezie will play Queen Tamlin of Leah, “the powerful and cunning ruler of Leah, the only human kingdom in The Four Lands. A ruthless weapons manufacturer with a strategic mind and a talent for manipulating people, Tamlin uses her royal clout to solidify a political alliance with the elves.”

Desmond Chiam plays General Riga, “a former top dog in Eventine’s army who’s now responsible for all the havoc in The Four Lands. After watching his people slaughtered in the War of the Races and fighting the Dagda Mor in the War of the Forbidding, Riga became convinced that the source of all problems in The Four Lands was neither good or evil but magic itself – and hence became leader of The Crimson.”
