When the cast was first assembled, it was Dacre who reached out to the others first.
“Dacre [Montgomery], the Red Ranger, he really did take on that leadership role in real life, just like he does in the film,” co-star Becky G shared. “He established this whole group chat on WhatsApp before anyone had even met each other.”
It was just so nice to chat with the people that I was going to be spending five months filming with before I even met them. Ludi [Lin, who plays the Black Ranger] was like, ‘good morning from China.’ I was on tour. Naomi [Scott, the Pink Ranger] was in the U.K. Dacre was still in Australia. RJ [Cyler, the Blue Ranger] was kicking it in LA. I feel like I knew these people before we had even started filming. That was all thanks to Dacre.”
