EXCLUSIVE: Chloe Lukasiak Dishes on New Film 'A Cowgirl's Story'

We caught up with Chloe Lukasiak about her new movie A Cowgirl’s Story!

She plays Savannah in the flick about a 17-year-old girl named Dusty Rhodes (Bailee Madison), who goes to live with her grandfather while her parents, both soldiers, are deployed in Afghanistan.

Because she is attending a new high school, Dusty makes friends with a group that includes Savannah, a girl whose father also served in the Army.

Dusty convinces her new friends to form an equestrian drill team, but when her mother’s helicopter is shot down in action and goes missing, Dusty’s faith is seriously tested.

She must work together with her friends and grandfather to overcome her sorrow and unite the town for a higher cause.

Check out out Q&A with Chloe below:

JJJ: Tell us about your audition and how you got involved in the project!

Chloe: I had become friends with Bailee a few months before this project was in motion. I had actually auditioned for something else she did and she gave me a call to say that they were casting A Cowgirl’s Story and there was a role she thought I would be perfect for. I auditioned and ended up getting the part! I flew to LA about a week later and we started production.

JJJ: Describe your character in 3 words.

Chloe: Troubled, Rebellious, Sarcastic

JJJ: What was the biggest challenge of taking on your role and how did you get through it?

Chloe: The biggest challenge was probably figuring out how to create a history for my character. It’s my job as an actor to navigate her emotions and the moments from her past that affect her in the present. I think it’s a fun challenge though.

JJJ: How did you bond with the rest of the cast? Any fun behind-the-scenes stories you can share?

Chloe: I already knew Bailee and everyone else was incredibly nice. I think it’s the most fun I’ve had with a cast so far. We did our job and were working hard, but it was nice being with people my own age and having fun in between takes.

A fun behind the scenes momentwe shot a scene at a pet store and one of the cast bought a cat while we were there. I thought he was joking, but nope, bought a cat!

JJJ: Did you get to take anything from set? If not, what WOULD you have liked to take?

Chloe: Yes, I took a few shirts from wardrobe!

A Cowgirl’s Story hits DVD on April 18.
