Cara Delevingne is 'Tired of Society Defining Beauty'

Actress Cara Delevingne recently penned an essay explaining why approval from others isn’t what makes her happy — and now she is speaking out again about how our society defines beauty.

“Its exhausting to be told what beauty should look like,” she captioned her new Instagram, “I am tired of society defining beauty for us. Strip away the clothes, Wipe Off the make up, cut off the hair. Remove all the material possessions. Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”

Cara shaved her hair off for a movie role, shocking many of her fans, but this new Instagram proves that she does not want to adhere to society-taught standards of beauty. She wants beauty to be defined as something more internal.

She then posted another Instagram, expanding on her thoughts. “The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become,” she wrote, “Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.”
