Madelaine Petsch's Cheryl Blossom Will Not 'Be In A Good Place' After Jason's Killer Was Revealed

We finally know just who killed Jason Blossom on Riverdale…but what we don’t know is just how Cheryl Blossom is going to live through it all.

Their father Clifford was revealed as the killer, and then proceeded to hang himself (or was it him?), and this now means Cheryl is now stuck with only Penelope.

“She’s not in a good place,” EP Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tells EW about where she’s headed from here. “She loved her brother, and to finally have the closure of knowing who killed him, but knowing it was someone she shared a home and life with, as chilly as it might be, is devastating to her.”

He adds, “The prospect of what faces her, which is a life alone with Penelope, is soul-crushing, so she’s in the worst place we’ve ever seen her.”

So, how did Madelaine Petsch personally react to the reveal?

“The first thing I went into was like overdrive, like how does Cheryl handle all this information…and then reading the rest of 13 and realizing not really well,” she shared. “It drives her more off the cliff.”

But, she’s happy with that ending: “I’m actually really happy about that because the more crazy the better for me. I like playing the crazy girl!”

Riverdale‘s season finale airs next Thursday @ 9PM ET/PT on the CW.
