Noah Cyrus' Mom Thinks 'Stay Together' is About Prom

Noah Cyrus‘ new single, “Stay Together,” definitely has a free-spirited, nostalgic high school feel in both lyrics and the video (watch it here) — and her mom (Tish Cyrus) thinks so, too!

“My mom told me it reminds her of when she went to prom. Then after prom, she went out with her friends and had so much fun,” Noah told MTV.

Noah went on to explain that she loves how the song brings “memories back” for some, and for young people, helps to “create new memories.”

“It makes me think of when I snuck out of my house for the very first time and was like, ‘All right, I’m not coming home, I’m going to go sneak out with my friends and go have fun,’” she remembered.

Noah rocked the stage at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards last weekend, and it’s safe to say a lot of people are connecting with her new song.

It’s so cool that Noah‘s mom was able to relate to her daughter’s song and recall fond memories. The real moral of the story, though? Even Noah snuck out of her house when she was younger!
