Exclusive: Social Media Star Inanna Sarkis Writes the Most Raw & Poetic 'Letter to Mom' for JJJ's Mother's Day Series

Sometimes it’s hard to speak from the heart, but when we asked social media star Inanna Sarkis to write a letter of gratitude to her mother, she knew exactly the love she wanted to bestow on her.

Inanna‘s letter to her mom is every one of us who followed our dreams (or are thinking about following our dreams), even if that means moving away from the people you love the most.

The Canadian-born model and actress (who has close to five million followers) may be having the best time of her life living in Los Angeles and making hilarious YouTube videos with her best friend Lele Pons, but Inanna — who turns 23 on May 15 — will never forget exactly how and why she got there.

Dear Mom,

I’m sorry for not always answering your calls,
for the short talks & goodbyes.
I’m sorry for not always being grateful,
but I do cherish that love in your eyes.

I may not need you to hold me,
but I only strive because you support me,

You’re my best friend,
my motivation,
the reason for who I am,
no need for explanation.

It hurts writing this now,
thousands of miles away,
knowing I can’t be there with you,
on this special day,

Instead I send this as a thank you,
And seal it with all the love & strength,
all the devotion & courage you’ve granted me
In hopes that I one day, maybe,
I will achieve all that you’ve dreamt for me.
